Seedlings for Schools Grower
Seedlings for Schools – Volunteer Growers needed - Spring 2026
Each year, we work with selected local schools to create a vegetable garden on school grounds and teach the children how to grow food organically, using ‘no dig’ techniques, in harmony with the seasons and the biodiversity around them.
The aim of our practical growing programme for schools is to connect children with their true source of food and for them to experience the joy of growing.
From our experience, schools find it difficult to grow strong seedlings to plant into their garden as they often do not have a greenhouse, polytunnel or suitable undercover area. The children also do not tend to have the dexterity in their hands to handle or transplant tiny seedlings without damaging them.
So, if you…
-
Like growing plants and/or gardening
-
Enjoy the magic or sowing seeds and watching
them germinate
-
Would like to help children grow vegetables at
school
-
Have some space in your greenhouse (or
undercover growing space)
-
Live in the High Wycombe/ South Bucks area
and have a few hours spare next Spring
then we would love to hear from you!!
