Welcome to

Grow Together

Growing plants, people and places

Grow Together Bucks is a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee. In other words, we are a ‘not for profit’ organisation. It was founded in 2020 to benefit local residents in South Bucks. We aim to support residents from all backgrounds, but specifically those in greatest need.

Our objectives are:

  • To enhance the lives of individuals

  • Engage with local businesses

  • Improve biodiversity

  • Protect the environment.

By doing this we hope to help people understand the importance of the source of food, and the role that a good diet plays in general wellbeing.

Working with us, our volunteer gardeners grow produce which they harvest and incorporate the home-grown fruit and veg into their diet. Our base is an allotment at Back Lane, which we manage as a community allotment.  In addition, we promote reduction of food waste by donating any spare produce to the local foodbank and encourage other allotment tenants in the locality to do the same.

Grow Together also provides practical growing programmes working with Primary, Secondary and SEND (Special Educational Needs) schools in the local area, teaching pupils the importance of soil, the seasons, biodiversity and compost ecology. By introducing the school and children to organic vegetable growing, the children learn how to nurture, grow and harvest their own fresh food and cooking with it in school or take the produce home to enjoy with their family as part of healthy diet.

To facilitate community volunteering and collaboration, Grow Together also works with companies who wish to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments. We broker, design and organise volunteering days for their staff in the local community (e.g. at schools and other community spaces).  We also partner with other local organisations who complement our aims/ objectives.
